When I had the privilege of photographing Cosquin Rock, I was immediately drawn to the energetic and rebellious atmosphere that permeated the festival. The music, the crowd, and the overall ambiance created a distinctive rock vibe that I was determined to capture.
Throughout the event, my eyes were constantly scanning the surroundings, searching for those fleeting instances that encapsulated the spirit of rock music. I looked for moments of intense emotion, whether it was the lead singer passionately belting out lyrics or the crowd collectively losing themselves in the music. These were the instances that conveyed the raw energy and rebellious nature of rock.
During the post-processing stage, I meticulously adjusted the color balance, saturation, and tone to bring out the vividness of the red and the depth of the black. I sought to strike a balance between enhancing the energy of the photographs while maintaining their authenticity. This meticulous attention to color ensured that the images reflected the intensity and rebelliousness associated with rock music.
In addition to the overall color treatment, I paid special attention to individual elements within each photograph. If there were stage lights or visual effects that aligned with the festival’s color scheme.
